GergelyOrosz I think this comes with how the role is defined. In some situations/organizations, the architect is really the gatekeeper. and sometimes that's really what is needed. Other times the architect is the enabler. This is the version I enjoyed at Microsoft (from both sides).On twitter.com

GergelyOrosz When I joined Amazon in 2011: As a new employee, I couldn't install my IDE on my new laptop without a visit to helpdesk. (IT mindset) BUT, as new SDE, I could ssh into any prod host and do what ever I wanted, and then be held responsible for the results. (SV mindset)Permalink On twitter.com
