I see it in the news feeds, career paths, fitness plans, credit scores, kids’ school grades, and most directly in social media and video games. So many behaviors where intent has been perverted to someone else’s game. My intent.Permalink On twitter.com

First change: I am giving up free to play (f2p) games. Honestly this very hard because I play Gems of War with an end game account in a top rated guild (Anonymous). I started playing when I quit smoking 5 years ago. But it’s a coping tool based on artificial scarcity.Permalink On twitter.com

On the other hand, I have been starting some new fitness habits, and I will consciously avoid getting into any of those apps and programs that use points instead of joy as motivation. I was already allergic to the apps’ twisted logic.On twitter.com
